Lesson Reflection

I feel that Raven and I did well on our lesson on Tuesday, April 24th. Originally, we were going to do a lesson based on our digital story; however, we thought that that would be boring and wanted to do something more interesting and at the same time something that would benefit our classmates. We ended up doing our lesson on Spanish greetings and farewells. We tried to accommodate everyone needs and make it as fun as possible. Raven and I were both terrified and practiced many times. We decided to go in 30 minutes early to set up the lesson to make sure the audio was working, the smart board was up and running well. We also had to pull up our PowerPoint and the YouTube videos. We separated all the handouts and made sure everything was clear so that  the students understood what to do. As the time got closer to 9:30, we were more nervous. Raven and I feared that students would misbehave while we were teaching. Surprisingly, the students were not too bad. We believe it was due to the fact that we had many activities, which kept the students on task and on their toes. Based on the peers evaluations, most of our classmates enjoyed the lesson. Both Raven and I realized that the vocabulary list of greetings and farewells that was up on the smart board could have been in a larger font for the whole class to read. Overall, I feel like we both did very well on our lesson and for the most part, it went as planned. Of course there will always be things that will have to be changed, but our changes were not huge. We handled it well and we were able to get through it. I had fun planning the lesson and had even more fun teaching it and observing how much the students enjoyed it. It was a pleasure working with Raven, she was very responsible and I feel like we both worked very well together. I was pleased with the outcome.

  1. I am glad you enjoyed this experience. It went quite well!

You stated, "We decided to go in 30 minutes early to set up the lesson to make sure the audio was working, the smart board was up and running well. We also had to pull up our PowerPoint and the YouTube videos."

This is exactly what you will need to do! I was a big believer in being early. You can relax, think about your plan, and be ready for when the students enter the room.

Thank you for everything. You are a wonderful student.
